Another very inspiring and emotional Dragons’ Den pitch we have witnessed on Dragons’ Den comes from Kameese Davis, founder & CEO of Nylah’s Naturals. Kam entered the Dragons’ Den – pitching 20% equity in Nylah’s Naturals for £50,000.
The mommy entrepreneur a.k.a Kam, revealed that her products are inspired by her daughter, Nylah who has eczema due to which Kam faced challenges and to surpass that she was seeking an innovative product backed by evidence. But she couldn’t find the same available in the market and witnessed a potential opportunity to create a business in the space.
Kam launched Nylah’s Naturals in 2018 and bootstrapped the company until then – selling over 3,000 units. Though she delivered a very smooth pitch with effective storytelling, none of the Dragons found Nylah’s Naturals investible at present except Sara Davies.
The mompreneur, Kam started to fall into tears as Sara started to make her an offer i.e. £50,000 for 40% equity.
While four out of five of the Dragons’ Den 2021 dragons Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Tej Lalvani, and Touker Suleyman, turned the deal down for Nylah’s Naturals, Sara Davies showed great belief and faith in Kam’s determination and her struggle as a mompreneur – proving that startup funding is beyond just numbers.
Watch the whole Dragons’ Den pitching session with Kameese Davis of Nylah’s Naturals, culminating with a successful funding deal happening at Dragons’ Den Season 18, Episode 5.
