A new fintech entry to the Indian startup ecosystem, ex-Paytm senior vice president, Shankar Nath after a two-year sabbatical has launched a kids-focused fintech startup Junio with co-founder Ankit Gera, again an ex-Paytm. The news flashed first on Entrackr yesterday.
Junio offers a smart card for kids that lets them make payments for digital and physical purchases. The company aims to create financial discipline among children since it allows parents to control their children’s smart cards through the Junio mobile app seamlessly. Moreover, the parents can create in-app chore lists and tie them with perks.
It allows parents to control smart cards and children’s activity through the Junio app wherein they can create in-app chore lists and tie them with perks. Junio also enables instant fund transfer, notifications and flexibility to cancel the card at any moment through the app itself.
Junio is expected to compete with FamPay, a kids-focused fintech startup launched in May last year and raised $4.7 million in a seed funding round in March this year led by Y Combinator, Sequoia, Venture Highway and Global Founders Capital.
