It is really unfortunate to be coming up with news update about the sudden demise of Pava LaPere, a 26-year-old CEO and Co-founder of the US based startup EcoMap Technologies.
Based on the reports, the police is investigating the death of Pava LaPere, the young tech CEO who was found dead at an apartment complex in Baltimore Monday morning, as a homicide.
EcoMap released a statement to CBS saying “the circumstances surrounding Pava’s death are deeply distressing, and our deepest condolences are with her family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly devastating time.”
“Her untiring commitment to our company, to Baltimore, to amplifying the critical work of ecosystems across the country, and to building a deeply inclusive culture as a leader, friend, and partner set a standard for leadership, and her legacy will live on through the work we continue to do,” the company added
A member of the Baltimore Police media relations team told Forbes shortly after 1 p.m. that there were no updates in the investigation. The Baltimore Police Department is searching for a 32-year-old suspect named Jason Dean Billingsley.
Officials consider Jason armed and dangerous, and seek him on first-degree murder, assault, reckless endangerment, and more.
Earlier this year, LaPere was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list for social impact. Her company works to take information and move it into “free platforms that enable users to navigate them,” making information more accessible to a broader range of people. The company had raised more than $4 million and worked with clients including The Aspen Institute, Meta and the WXR Fund. She attended Johns Hopkins University, where she studied sociology, and launched EcoMap while she was still a student.
