Innovative construction collaborative workflow management platform in the MENA region, Yovza yesterday announced that Mr. Syed Imaduddin Jafri, former additional General Manager at Shapoorji Pallonji for Saudi Arabia, has joined the contech startup as a strategic adviser.

Mr. Jafri has a Civil Engineering background and brings 34 years of rich strategic project development, project management and general contracting experience. He joins the team in the mission to embrace the construction industry as a whole. As a strategic planner, his key focus is on organizational development, business development, budget, schedule, and operations to achieve productivity and profitability. As general manager and director he has managed a number of leading construction projects in India and Saudi Arabia such as Etihad towers Abu Dhabi, King Abdulla Financial District, Riyadh.

Commenting on the development, Madan Kumar, CEO & Founder, Yovza, shared his thoughts as,

“We are very excited to welcome Mr. Jafri onboard. Mr Jafri and I are on a similar mission which is to digitize, simplify and manage the routine construction processes without delays and complete tasks in an efficient and orderly manner. His wealth of knowledge and excellent track record will help us take crucial and important decisions to achieve our goals pioneering in this space.”

Jafri’s entrance comes at a pivotal time for Yovza which recently launched an exclusive construction Marketplace for the MENA region. The aim of the marketplace is to bridge the gap between the service seekers and service providers within the construction industry. Service seekers often go through a lot of pain choosing the right service providers whether it be a small fix in the kitchen or a large construction project. Most of the service seekers not being from the same industry have less information on how this industry works and end up many-a-time choosing the wrong service provider. This may result in delayed projects, low quality services or even abrupt termination of services leaving the project unfinished.

Constructionmarketonline.com, an exclusive marketplace by Yovza provides a list of various kinds of reliable, premium contractors and suppliers. Service seekers no longer need to worry about the quality or the brand of the service providers. Each one listed on this Marketplace are well scrutinized and categorized in advance so that the clients can pick and choose the right service providers on the go in order to create an ease in completing their respective projects in time.

On joining forces with Yovza, Jafri added,

“I am delighted to be a part of such a young team of experts who aim to digitize the construction industry as a whole. Construction is one of the ancient yet the most inefficient industry. For the past 25 years I have implemented and used many construction management applications and collaborative platforms, for estimation, planning, cost control and documentation, but was unsatisfied with them all. It was Yovza’s mission that attracted my attention. This new service as a marketplace will further enhance Yovza’s capabilities and I am indeed looking forward to contributing my knowledge and experience to add value to their product.”

Yovza was one of the 16 companies that participated in Batch 3 of Misk500 Accelerator Program that took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, recently. 500 Startups international flagship accelerator is held in partnership with Misk Innovation and aims to empower young people across the world to activate their entrepreneurial ambitions and achieve real impact. The company has also raised pre-seed funding from 500 Startups and has successfully completed the 4-month extensive training by the company’s global team of experts.

Yovza helps construction companies from the MENA region digitize their approval workflow seamlessly across the stakeholders to save 70% of their time and also helps them increase their overall project efficiency. It offers a range of benefits to different stakeholders. For instance, the cloud-based platform allows remote working, enabling the user – whether an engineering consultant or a project site engineer – to access his work from anywhere. It helps the improved information flow which leads to better and precise decision-making and better deployment of resources.

Another benefit is real-time tracking, enabling companies to oversee and manage their projects with data on the go. The platform assists in preparing more accurate forecasts, generate reports, maintain logs, all with just a click of a button. Since the COVID-19 outbreak until recently, Yovza, has empowered more than 500 SME’s to take control of their projects digitally. And it is a result of the feedbacks from these companies, Yovza has now decided to launch its new initiative creating this exclusive construction marketplace.
