Dubai’s Global Ventures appoints Ex-Jamalon COO as the Operating Partner

As reported by the Middle East & North Africa’s startup news publication MENAbytes yesterday, the Dubai-based Global Ventures has appointed Said Murad as the Operating Partner. Murad is the former COO of Jamalon, an Amman, Jordan-based online books marketplace.

Launched in 2018, Global Ventures has closed 8 investments until now, the latest one is of $500 in Dubai’s cybersecurity startup SpiderSilk.

About Said Murad

Murad led Jamalon’s operations from 2017 to 2019 and helped the company raise $10 million in a Series B round from Wamda Capital in March 2019.

He also served as the CEO of Groupon UAE from 2014 to 2016 and managed the company’s local, goods and travel business across UAE by developing merchant partnerships and acquiring new merchants.

Murad has a long history of working in the operations domain for various companies including Dubai’s Abraaj Capital, Dubai International Capital, Jordan Dubai Capital, SHUAA Capital, Deloitte and EFS Facilities Services Group.
