Previously acquired by a Delhi-based developer who was seeking to capitalize on the merger between JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar, the domain’s sale comes amid escalating attention and familial pressures. This unexpected shift in ownership marks a new chapter for the jiohotstar.com website.

Last week, the developer was seeking INR 1 crore from Reliance Industries to support his educational aspirations at Cambridge University. He described himself as “a dreamer,” and expressed his intention, but revealed that Reliance had not responded officially. Despite his reluctance to pursue legal action, family pressures mounted. “My parents are extremely worried… Handling a legal battle is one thing, but dealing with worried parents is tough.” He confessed

In a surprising turn of events, the developer’s messages were replaced by a heartfelt note from UAE-based siblings, Jainam and Jivika. The siblings shared their inspiring story of spreading kindness and education through a Seva project in India, where they empowered children to value learning and set life goals.

They then revealed their acquisition of the JioHotstar domain, explaining, “When we returned to Dubai, we used a portion of our collection to support a young software developer from Delhi by purchasing this domain for his benefit.”

Jainam and Jivika outlined their vision for the platform, intending to maintain it as a hub for inspiring kindness, while remaining open to potential future buyers.
