Middle East’s largest food and grocery platform Talabat, owned by Delivery Hero AG, and Kitopi, Dubai’s leading cloud kitchen platform have joined hands to distribute over 20,000 meals to support communities of Dubai which are impacted heavily amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
The collaboration is well structured with Kitopi preparing 1,000 meals daily and Talabat taking up the responsibility of delivering those to the communities around Dubai which are impacted. A safe drop-off zone has been created in participation with the Dubai Police and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) to ensure safety.
Sharing the core cognition of the initiative, Jihad Bou Nasr, Country Manager, Kitopi in a press statement said,
“These are unprecedented times that require us to think beyond ourselves. Our mission is to revolutionize the way people can access food, and for us today, that means helping to feed the most vulnerable. This initiative would not have been possible without our chefs, the local authorities and Talabat. Together, we’re determined to continue serving our communities.”
Talking about the partnership with Kitopi, Mo Yildirim, Managing Director of Talabat said,
“People are struggling, and it is particularly those who are living day-to-day or week-to- week who are most affected by this, who need the most help.”
“We would like to thank the Dubai authorities for diligently and calmly managing the situation, Kitopi for cooking the fresh meals, but also our riders – not only for delivering these meals, but for continuing to deliver food, medicines and groceries across the emirate so people can stay home.”
Both Talabat and Kitopi are taking precautionary steps such as washing and sanitising hands, wearing gloves and masks, sanirising surfaces regularly and everything in between.
