TaskUs Inc. (Nasdaq: TASK) has launched an electric vehicle (EV) transportation programme for the daily commute of its employees in India, marking a major expansion of its sustainability initiatives in the country.
The programme begins at the company’s Mystiqa site in Gurugram, where around 20% of the existing transport fleet will be replaced with electric vehicles. TaskUs said it plans to electrify nearly half of its Indian transportation fleet by the end of 2026, with interim targets of 100 EVs by July and 300 units by the end of this year. Overall, the company aims to transition 45%–50% of its transportation fleet to EVs in 2026.
According to the company, more than 35% of employees using TaskUs’ transportation services are expected to benefit from the EV rollout. Each EV is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 3.2 metric tonnes annually, with the first year of the programme projected to cut nearly 360 metric tonnes of carbon emissions.
“The TaskUs People-First ethos extends far beyond our immediate team; it embraces the communities and cities where we operate. This initiative represents our dedicated contribution to reducing carbon emission and noise pollution in the urban environments we call home,” said Sapna Bhambani, SVP of Operations and Country Leader, India at TaskUs.
The company said the initiative forms part of its broader sustainability and operational strategy, aligned with environmental responsibility and long-term growth objectives. TaskUs is also expanding its Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) initiatives across its global operations.
India is TaskUs’ second-largest operations base, with more than 15,000 employees across six cities. TaskUs India was recently certified as Great Place to Work® for 2025 and was named one of the Top 10 Inspiring Workplaces in Asia for 2025 by the Inspiring Workplaces Group.
As of June 30, 2025, TaskUs had a global workforce of approximately 61,400 people across 30 locations in 13 countries, including the United States, India and the Philippines.
