10 Critical Steps to Make Your 2018 Happy

Some of us have refused to enter 2018 without resolving our issues of 2017. While some of us have are even carrying issues from 2012 till now and planned to carry for this coming year too. Quite a lot of us have to complete the resolutions we made in 2016; which actually were planned in 2015 and we thought about those in 2014. Funny, isn’t it? However now that the last batch of the 90’s which is the 1999 kids are already 18 and not kids anymore, it’s time we don’t spend every December cribbing how fast the year went by not giving us a chance to do anything.

Here are 10 basic yet important things to do in 2018 in order to make our lives way more than just scrolling through memes.

1. Work on your ideas

My personal favorite Mrs. Oliver had once said, “I can always think of things, what is so tiring is writing them down” in Cards on the Table by Agatha Christie. Unless and until we’re going to sit and work on our ideas and give them shape, none of them are going to come on its place on their own. It’s time we take out time for them and organize them and work on them to make it a success. Looking at all the YouTubers who were once just common people should be a motivation for all of us to start working on our ideas to make them big. You’ve got a poem?  Find the Big Mics in your area! You’ve got your content? Look out for companies hiring interns and apply for them! Just keep trying.

2. Stay away from the toxic relationships

These just don’t imply on your relationships with your boyfriends or girlfriends which aren’t working anymore but also people in your friend circle or your family friends who are more bad for you than any good! There are many people around us who constantly try to bring us down no matter what we do. It’s time we start maintaining a decent distance from them and start surrounding ourselves with positive yet honest people.

3. Give yourself the ME-Time you deserve

Stop over-stressing over trivial everyday issues and don’t let them from take a toll over you. Give yourself the Me-Time you deserve by pampering yourself. Not necessary that these imply on spending huge amount of cash on yourself but can even be the time spent alone at your house, taking a day off from your College/Work and spending it how you want by cooking your favourite dish or watching your favourite Netflix series.

4. Try fixing your sleep schedule

In this era where insomnia is not considered a disorder but a cool trend to follow this is something I suppose all of us need to work on. Our sleep schedule indirectly affects our day’s productivity and spending nights awake and spending our days sleeping won’t help us in any way. The early to bed and early to rise has all become very old school for us and we’re wondering why we are not becoming healthy or wealthy.

5. Focus on your health

Give your Mental and Physical Health a Priority. Stop stressing on things that are not important or the ones that are not good for you. Even the most basic thing like a question from your textbook which isn’t really going through your head needs to be ignored for a while. Start eating right and dump the junk. Make your meals a priority and don’t skip them for your schedule. Organize your schedule in such a way that you get your small meals throughout the day.

6. Read books, more and more books

The reader lives a thousand lives before he dies and the man who never reads lives only once. Because the line, “The book was better than the movie” isn’t really wrong, is it? For beginners they can be choosing a wide range of books available according to their genre of thriller, romance or comedy. This year, read how much ever you can and find your peace in there.

7. TRY making each day productive

Try doing something everyday than just scrolling through the feed to make each day productive. A bucket list can be one of the most effective ways to achieve your daily goals and make your life more organized. Wasting our lives behind nothing isn’t going to make 2018 any different from the previous years.

8. Spend more real than reel time

Start jogging or cycling in mornings, meet new people in real life and not just on the internet. Start feeling moments than recording them because don’t we get annoyed by the ones clicking pictures of the meals as soon as it reaches the table? We all need to start giving our gadgets some rest and spend real time with our family and friends.

9. Start saving your money time and energy

Don’t waste your money, time and energy on unnecessary things, people and issues. Learn to not react on things which aren’t worthwhile. Think twice before you speak and ask yourself if you really need to speak on the particular issue. This way you will avoid a lot of unnecessary stress in your life.

10. Learn to communicate better

Understand that no one is a mind reader and that your thoughts and ideas need to conveyed efficiently for the other party to understand. Rule out the possibilities for miscommunications by not keeping your words to yourself and expecting others to understand your issues, rather, open up about your opinions and thoughts to avoid unnecessary conflicts.

Lastly…

These things aren’t just that need to applied at the start of the year but also to be reminded to ourselves over and over again to get our life organized and systematic.
