CE-Ventures, the corporate venture capital platform of Sharjah, UAE-headquartered Crescent Enterprises, has joined the $100 million Series B funding round of U.S.-based nuclear technology startup Aalo Atomics. The investment highlights the UAE’s growing role in advancing clean energy innovation and AI infrastructure technologies worldwide.
The round was led by Valor Equity Partners with participation from CE-Ventures, Fine Structure Ventures, Hitachi Ventures, Crosscut Ventures, and others. CE-Ventures’ involvement underscores the UAE’s ambition to link regional capital with global high-impact technologies, particularly in the energy and frontier tech sectors.
Founded in 2022 by Matt Loszak, Aalo Atomics is pioneering mass-manufactured modular nuclear reactors to meet the fast-rising energy demand from AI-powered data centers. The company has been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for its Reactor Pilot Program, launched in June 2025, which is designed to fast-track advanced nuclear testing.

The Series B capital will enable Aalo to construct its first nuclear power plant, the Aalo-X, at the Idaho National Laboratory. The company is targeting zero-power criticality by July 2026, a milestone that could make it the first advanced nuclear power plant in the U.S. to reach criticality in decades.
“We are at a pivotal moment for advanced nuclear technology, and we view Aalo Atomics as a true leader in this new atomic age,” said Sudarshan Pareek, Senior Vice President at CE-Ventures. “The surge in AI adoption is driving unprecedented demand for reliable energy, and nuclear power can play a crucial role in meeting this demand with clean, scalable solutions. At CE-Ventures, we take pride in our long-standing track record of investing in pioneering companies.”
“We are beyond excited to announce Aalo’s $100M Series B. We now have the capital to build our first nuclear power plant, the Aalo-X, which we’re aiming to turn on next summer. This could be the first advanced nuclear power plant to achieve criticality in the US in decades. The Aalo team is extremely grateful to all of our backers for giving us this once-in-a-generation opportunity to help nuclear energy fulfil its potential.” Matt Loszak, CEO of Aalo Atomics, added
The International Energy Agency (IEA) projects that global electricity demand from AI-optimized data centers will more than quadruple by 2030, intensifying the need for sustainable energy sources. With its investment, UAE’s CE-Ventures reinforces the country’s positioning as a strategic global investor in clean energy and frontier technologies.
By backing Aalo Atomics, UAE’s CE-Ventures not only strengthens its global technology portfolio but also showcases the nation’s commitment to bridging regional capital with international innovation. As AI accelerates global energy needs, this partnership puts both the UAE and Aalo Atomics at the forefront of the next wave of nuclear energy for digital infrastructure.
