Bold Care Co-founder Shares his Debit Card details on X – Asking Users to Spend

Mumbai-based men’s sexual health and wellness startup Bold Care which is backed by Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh is making headlines for a social media stunt started by one of the co-founders, Rahul Krishnan.

Krishnan in a post on X shared his debit card details and asked the users to spend the money using the same. The stunt came in celebration of “Sextember”, the name of an initiative by Bold Care to dedicate September month for spreading awareness about men’s sexual wellness and health.

“my card number is 4216-8701-5010-2349; the expiration date is 12/30; the security code is 207; happy sextember everyone!” the post reads

In the post replies, Krishnan shared OTPs for the transactions made by the users on platforms like Amazon, Myntra, Flipkart, Swiggy, Zomato, and more. After four hours of sharing OTPs with the users, Krishnan took and break and notified the users that the card still had INR 3 lacs remaining to spend.

In reply to Krishnan’s post, Bold Care shared some terms and conditions to properly carry out the campaign. But Krishnan regarded them as “(boring) terms and conditions”.

Opportunistic users utilized the moment to buy stuff online until the card went cashless.

Many users called Krishnan’s stunt a smart move for marketing purposes, while some blamed the SBI bank for not suspending the card against a skyscraping number of transactions, while some thought of it as a scam.

“Probably one of the smartest marketing campaigns of 2024 ever? Bold Care co-founder revealed his bank card details online for the public to make purchases” said a user; “Smartest brain move” said another

“Burning VC money in style! Raised $10.6mn. Ya ya, Ofcourse from his personal account! ;)” a user poked Rahul Krishnan for utilising the funding money for the stunt.

“Really smart marketing here 🙂 – This is an SBI prepaid card on Visa’s network. – Frankly, I’m appalled that this card hasn’t been flagged yet by Visa or SBI for such a high volume of activity originating from so many different IPs” a user said

This is not the first time that Bold Care has gone viral. In February, the company rocked the internet by launching a funny video ad campaign starring Ranveer Singh and Adult actor Johnny Sins – satirizing soap opera dramas.

Bold Care was founded in 2019 by Rajat Jadhav, Rahul Krishnan, Harsh Singh, and Mohit Yadav, is a direct-to-consumer (D2C) men’s health and wellness startup. The company roped in Ranveer Singh in December 2023 as a co-owner and face of the brand.

The company has raised over $10 million in funding until now and counts notable names among its investors including Sharrp Ventures, Stellaris Venture Partners, Claris Capital, Gruhas Collective Consumer Fund, and NB Ventures.
