Droom announces shift from marketplace to AI-powered everyday super app for automobiles

The company says new platform will integrate mobility services, AI-driven intelligence, and personalisation across India’s automotive ecosystem.

Droom, Gurugram, Haryana-based automobile marketplace founded by entrepreneur Sandeep Aggarwal, on Wednesday announced its transition into what it describes as an AI-powered everyday super app for mobility, marking a strategic shift in its business model from a transaction-led marketplace to a full-stack mobility services platform.

The company said the new platform is designed to bring multiple automobile-related services under a single digital ecosystem, including rentals, loans, insurance, recycling, repair, roadside assistance, detailing, FASTag services, and predictive vehicle management. Droom said the services will be delivered through AI-driven intelligence, automation, and personalised user experiences.

“Our expanded vision represents a transformative and deeply ambitious plan to unlock Droom’s vast potential by creating a diversified, innovative, and tech heavy and asset light services. When we started Droom 11 years ago, the automobile market was still discovering digital trust and first time used car buyers. Today, it’s about intelligence, personalisation, and seamless mobility,” Aggarwal said.

“The industry has evolved through digitisation, premiumization, electrification, and mobility-as-a-service – and with heavy use of AI and tech, Droom is future-ready,” he added.

Founded 11 years ago, Droom began as an online marketplace for buying and selling vehicles and has since built a technology-led platform for automobile transactions. The company said it has facilitated more than $8 billion in transaction value, served 3.1 million transacting consumers, and built a dealer network of 23,000 dealers and 20,000 vehicle inspectors across 1,200 cities.

Droom also said its proprietary pricing and valuation technologies have recorded over 885 million users, positioning the platform as one of the largest digital mobility ecosystems in the country.

With the integration of AI, analytics, and automation across its services, the company said it aims to move India’s mobility sector from fragmented service delivery to a connected and data-driven model that supports long-term sustainability.
