Mawdoo3.com Raises $10 Million to Launch Q&A Platform ‘Ujeeb’

Mawdoo3.com, an Amman, Jordan-based encyclopedia in Arabic language, also known as the Wikipedia of Arab has closed its series B round fund with $10 Million fresh fund to launch its Quora-like platform ‘Ujeeb‘. Equitrust, AdamTech VC and Endeavor Catalyst Fund participated in the funding round.

Earlier in July 2018, Mawdoo3.com closed $13.5 Million in a series B round fund from Kingsway Capital and Endure Capital. The funds were used to launch ‘Salma’, a Siri-like AI-powered Arabic voice assistant.

The Ujeeb platform is already live and has over 200,000 answers already. And the team is aiming to reach a threshold of 10 million answers within its first year.

The platform Mawdoo3.com was founded by Rami Al-Qawasmi and Mohammed Jaber in January 2012 with an objective to build a gigantic directory of articles in the Arabic language. And today the startup addresses around 50 million users per month searching for information in regional language.
