Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 13 November 2019 – MEED has announced the finalists for the third edition of the MEED Awards, which celebrate the contribution of the private sector in developing a knowledge-based economy in the GCC.
With regional visions now in their implementation phases, governments are focused on encouraging organizations to bridge the gap in raising awareness to fulfil goals of achieving economic growth in a variety of tertiary sectors.
The MEED Awards acknowledge the private sector organizations who are committed to embracing disruptive technologies, sustainability initiatives and efficient people management to drive growth in non-oil sectors, which is projected to grow by 3.1% this year*. The awards continue to support the extensive efforts that businesses and leaders of the GCC are taking to steer away from the traditional business landscape into new and evolving domains.
“The MEED Awards aim to promote business best practices and highlight the companies showcasing exceptional capabilities to boost growth in line with the region’s future economic goals. The large number of applications we received this year are a testament to the wealth of companies and business leaders who are supporting the diversification of the economy. The shortlisted companies are making great efforts towards achieving operational efficiencies and improvements in key business areas including the adaptation of advanced technologies” said MEED Group Commercial Director, Sonia Kerrigan.
60 companies have been shortlisted in the following 13 categories: Architectural/Design Firm of the Year, Bank/Financial Institution of the Year, Business Innovation of the Year, Consultant of the Year, Contractor of the Year, Developer of the Year, Energy Company of the Year, Female Leader of the Year, Healthcare Company of the Year, Law Firm of the Year, Logistics/Transport Company of the Year, Male Leader of the Year, Manufacturer/Supplier of the Year, Renewables Company of the Year, Rising Star of the Year, and Technology Company of the Year.
