The Joy Entertainment Industry Forum (Joy Forum 19), a two-day forum organized by the Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority (GEA) on 13 and 14 October, brought together leading global entertainment pioneers interested in investment and growth opportunities in the entertainment sector of KSA.

The forum highlighted Saudi Arabia’s developing entertainment sector, one that is expected to generate 200,000 jobs and attract local and global investment exceeding $69 billion by 2030.

The event was attended by international actors Shahrukh Khan (SRK), Jason Mamoa, Jackie Chan and Jean-Claude Van Damme along with the Japanese chef Nobuyuki “Nobu” Matsuhisa who is popular for his chain of restaurants, also in GCC region. The celebs took part in several panel discussions at the event and presented with awards at the end of the event by GEA chairman Turki al-Sheikh.

The CEO of GEA stated…

“This is an absolute game-changer for Saudi families and young people,”

“For many years, entertainment and culture events in the Kingdom were limited and many Saudis travelled abroad for these experiences – however, thanks to Vision 2030 and the work of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) – that is no longer necessary.”
