Bengaluru-based edtech startup Unacademy that offers online video-based training and live sessions across 30 exam categories in India has reportedly acquired another edtech startup Kreatryx on Monday March 30.

Kreatryx was founded by Ankit Goyal in 2014 which is an online preparation platform for various competitive exams such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering or GATE in a cash-and-stock deal. The company will function as an individual brand Unacademy from now.

Gaurav Munjal, co-founder & CEO of Unacademy sharing his idea and vision forward with the acquisition of Kreatryx in a statement said,

“As we seek to deepen our footprint across multiple categories, we are always on the lookout for like-minded partners who share the same vision and have made a difference within specific test preparation categories,”

“With its strong presence in the GATE and ESE (Engineering Services Examination) segment, Kreatryx will play a pivotal role in further building our dominance in the segment and bring us closer to achieving our vision.”

Unacademy in February secured $110 million in a Series E round led by General Atlantic and Facebook. back in 2018, the company also had acquired Wifistudy, a YouTube-based learning platform.
