Boldfit, a leading direct-to-customer (D2C) fitness brand from Bengaluru, last week welcomed Indian cricketer KL Rahul as a strategic investor and brand ambassador. Although the financial details of the partnership remain confidential, the collaboration is set to harness Rahul’s significant influence to amplify Boldfit’s brand awareness and strengthen its position in the market. The financials of the deal were not disclosed.
“Being a part of Boldfit feels like coming home. As a Bengaluru boy, I’m proud to join forces with a brand that shares my love for fitness and my hometown. I look forward to contributing to Boldfit’s journey and inspiring others to lead healthier lives,” Rahul stated.
Boldfit, founded by Pallav Bihani in 2018, offers a wide range of fitness products, including equipment, yoga accessories, dietary supplements, and sportswear. With over 2.5 million customers served, the startup has collaborated with top IPL teams – Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru – to produce co-branded fitness gear and fan apparel.
“Having KL Rahul on board is a huge moment for us. His dedication and drive perfectly match our brand’s values. Together, we aim to start a fitness revolution across the nation,” Bihani commented on the development
As part of its ambitious growth strategy, Boldfit is actively broadening its product portfolio and geographical footprint. The startup’s plans include unveiling new products, scaling up its footwear and athleisure offerings, and making a significant foray into the Middle East market.
Boldfit has set an ambitious target of establishing a robust retail presence by opening 100 physical stores across India within the next four years. This expansion plan aligns with the burgeoning Indian fitness market, which is expected to witness remarkable growth, surging from $20 million in 2023 to a staggering $32 billion by 2028, with a compounded annual growth rate of 27%.
