Breadfast – Egyptian grocery delivery platform raised seven figures

Headquartered in Cairo, Egypt, Breadfast is a fresh bread and grocery delivery platform that yesterday raised seven figures from Paul Graham (Founder of Y Combinator) and Paul Buchheit (Founder of Gmail), Endure Capital, Shorooq Partners among other investors from KSA, UAE, US, UK, and Tanzania. The funding amount has not been disclosed by the company yet.

The company after nine months of joining YC made this round happen and now preparing for the Series B round for expansion n MEAT (Middle East Africa & Turkey), starting with Dubai, Riyadh, and Jeddah.

Founded by Abdallah Nofal, Mostafa Amin, and Muhammad S. Habib in 2017 with a vision of improving the shopping experience for consumers for their daily needs. The company in its initial phase started with delivering fresh bread from their own ovens to the households and today it offers 60-minute delivery of breakfast delight and multiple grocery items in Cairo and claims to be delivering tens of thousands of orders every month.

Alongside the latest funding round, the company has also announced the soft launch of Breadfast Now in MEA (Middle East & Africa) – establishing itself as the first native cloud supermarket in the region.

Sharing the vision of the company and commenting over the investment round, Mostafa Amin, CEO & Co-founder of Breadfast in a statement said,

We think that customer experience is underestimated in emerging markets, and our goal is to build the right infrastructure using technology to reach the experience the customer deserves.”
