A former OnlyFans executive has taken on a new role, joining the C-suite team at London, U.K.-based Oh, an NSFW startup that provides users with intimate chats featuring AI-generated models.
Erika Coppel, who led creator experience and marketing at OnlyFans for over two years, is set to join Oh as its chief marketing officer (CMO). In her new role, she will be responsible for shaping public perception of the AI-powered adult content startup, which is backed by venture capital.
During her tenure at OnlyFans, Erika Coppel played a pivotal role in developing the company’s creator program, which made significant payouts, including an estimated $5 billion in 2023. Coppel is now poised to leverage her expertise at Oh, with the goal of disrupting the adult creator market, a space currently dominated by her former employer.
Oh made its debut in 2024, introducing its flagship product, OhChat. This platform enables users to engage in “uncensored” conversations with AI-generated models, with real-life models receiving a share of the revenue alongside the company.
According to Oh’s founder, Nic Young, OhChat offers personalized content at a significantly lower price point than OnlyFans. This approach allows users to access customized content without the hefty price tag, making it an attractive alternative in the adult content market.
Erika Coppel has already made a significant impact at Oh, playing a key role in securing prominent online creators and public figures to join the platform’s digitally recreated model roster, with notable signings including Baywatch actress Carmen Electra.
Coppel said, “I couldn’t be more thrilled to join this extraordinary team of visionary technologists revolutionising the future of creator and fan relationships.”
“This is a game-changer, and I am beyond excited to help propel this groundbreaking technology into the hands of creators everywhere. This is the future, and Oh is the incredible pioneer leading the way.” she added.
Oh recently closed a £3.7m seed funding round, with investments coming from a group of prominent backers, including Tangent, Kosmos Ventures, Big Brain Holdings, Bodhi Ventures, and Tagus Capital.
“With the infinite scalability, personalization, and accessibility of creator-fan experiences enabled by AI, we have no doubt that it’s the future of the content creator industry. Oh is undoubtedly leading in developing the most sophisticated NSFW AI models available,” said Young.
“So to now bring Erika onboard, who is the leading figure in this space through her creation and leadership of the OnlyFans’ original creator program, means we’re in the prime position to truly lead this revolution.” he added
Since its launch in 2016, OnlyFans has emerged as one of the UK’s most profitable tech companies, generating an impressive $1.3 billion in revenue in 2023 alone.
