Leena AI, Gurugram-based HRtech startup raises $8 Mn funding

Gurugram, India-based Leena AI, an HRtech startup, on Tuesday raised a whopping $8 million in a Series A round led by New York-based Greycroft Venture Capital. The round also saw participation from Adam Miller, the founder of Cornerstone OnDemand that provides a cloud-based people development software provider; Jim Moffat, ex-Deloitte CEO and chairperson; and a personal investment from Alan Patricof, Greycroft’s chairperson.

As a part of the investment, Greycroft’s partner Mark Terbeek will be joining Leena AI’s board of directors. The fresh proceeds will help the company to expand its go-to-market strategies, hiring talent and accelerate product development.

The company was started with ChatterOn, a chatbot building platform, in 2017, the launched Leena Ai in 2018 with Adit Jain (CEO), Anand Prajapati (CTO), and Mayank Goyal, Leena AI had raised $2 million from a host of Silicon Valley investors in 2018. Prior to that, the startup was a part of Y Combinator summer batch 2018 with ZiffyHomes, Khatabook and OkCredit along.

Speaking of the core-offering of Leena AI, Adit Jain in a statement said,

“Legacy internal help desks are simply not meeting the needs of the world’s top enterprises. They are not user friendly, are tough to deploy and lack intelligence. Leena AI Service Delivery suite changes that – bringing the consumer experience to enterprise employees,”

Leena AI claims to accumulated over 100 enterprise customers in the last 9 months, including Lafarge Holcim, Abbott, CocaCola, AirAsia, Vodafone, Sony Pictures among others – adding 150,000 new employees, bringing 350 percent revenue growth for the company.
