Deepinder Goyal’s Temple Wearable Opens Pre-Orders Nov 1

First batch will be made to order in six colours, three of them limited editions, as the Zomato founder's head-worn blood-flow tracker nears market.

Deepinder Goyal’s Temple, a wearable that sits on the side of the head and tracks blood flow to the brain, will open pre-orders for its first batch on November 1, 2026, according to an email the company sent to its waitlist.

The first batch will be made to order and sold first come, first served. Temple told waitlist members to order as soon as the window opens. Goyal had said earlier that people on the early-access waitlist would get priority when bookings begin.

The launch edition comes in six colours. The email named three of them as limited editions: Real Jade, Deep Blue and Purple Funk. It did not list the other three, but Goyal’s earlier post on X, as reported by NewsBytes, named True Gold, Rose Gold and Black Mirror alongside those.

The date is later than Goyal had hinted. In that same X post, which circulated in the first days of October, he wrote:

“Pre-orders open soon – hopefully next week; just need certainty on a couple more items.”

said Deepinder Goyal on X

He did not say which items were still pending. November 1 falls roughly a month after that post.

Temple is not a smartwatch. It is a small, coin-sized unit worn near the temple, and it uses optical sensors to follow changes in cerebral blood flow, a metric the company calls BrainFlow. Goyal describes it as the first continuous, wearable measurement of blood flow to the brain, and has called the latest version the smallest wearable on the market by volume. Badminton player PV Sindhu has been seen wearing a unit during live matches.

Scepticism about what a forehead-side optical sensor can reliably measure has not gone away. Goyal has answered it with a study that compares BrainFlow readings against time-domain near-infrared spectroscopy, a lab-grade method. Independent validation of the device has not been published.

Pricing remains unconfirmed by the company, and Goyal has not disclosed the launch price. Temple has said it will share more information before pre-orders open. In May, Goyal said the first 100 devices were ready for select founding users, which makes the November batch the first one open to the wider waitlist.
