The California-based software development platform GitHub, a subsidiary of Microsoft today announced its operations in India under the name GitHub India Pvt. Ltd. which will be headed by Maneesh Sharma as the General Manager.
India being the third-largest GitHub community, the aim of the expansion is to help GitHub serve better to the developer community and customers across the country. The company mentioned that they will build teams across all functions like engineering, sales, support, marketing in India over a span of the next few months.

GitHub is already working with organisations across India including the unicorns like Ola, Zomato, OYO, Swiggy and Paytm to help them deliver winning customer experiences through its GitHub Enterprise solutions. The Company is also expanding its channel partner programme to support GitHub Enterprise customers.
