The launch of this initiative is a key milestone in the journey to establish India as a leading international education destination.

BIG aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and employability by providing flexible, tech-enabled learning pathways that cater to the evolving demands of the workforce.

According to PW, the BIG initiative is centered around aligning education with the evolving needs of the workforce, effectively bridging the gap between academics and employability through adaptable, tech-enabled learning pathways. By targeting a broad audience, BIG aims to introduce formal skill training in schools, starting from classes 11 and 12, with the ultimate goal of equipping students with industry-relevant skills from a young age.

This holistic approach encompasses a wide range of learners, including those from Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Polytechnics, university students, and working professionals, thereby promoting lifelong learning and skill development across various age groups.

In addition, BIG places significant emphasis on capacity building for government sector employees, with a focus on upgrading their skills and knowledge to effectively address the dynamic challenges of modern governance.

By offering training and upskilling programs, BIG aims to empower government employees to enhance public service delivery and stay abreast of technological advancements. Notably, this initiative is well-aligned with recent policy developments, including the UGC’s guidelines on online courses and the National Education Policy 2020’s focus on promoting flexibility in education.

Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO of NSDC and MD of NSDC International, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “Through our partnership with Physics Wallah, we are taking a transformative step towards bridging the gap between education and industry needs. The Bharat Innovation Global (BIG) initiative will empower millions of learners by equipping them with essential skills for the future job market. This collaboration not only reflects NSDC International’s commitment to enhancing employability but also aligns with our vision of fostering a skilled workforce that meets the demands of a rapidly evolving economy.”

“Education is not a-one-size-fits-all solution, it’s a dynamic and evolving journey that requires collaboration, innovation, and adaptability. At PhysicsWallah (PW), we aim to provide support to learners with skills that prepare them for the everchanging world” said Alakh Pandey, Founder and CEO of PhysicsWallah

“Our partnership with NSDCI through BIG is a step towards making the educational landscape more inclusive. Through this initiative we aim to align education fostering growth at various stages of a learner’s life,” he added.
