Bollywood actress Triptii Dimri, who recently gained widespread recognition for her role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga‘s film Animal, found herself embroiled in controversy after failing to attend a scheduled event in Jaipur on Monday evening. The event, organized by the Women Entrepreneurs of FICCI FLO, had invited Triptii as a prominent guest, but her absence sparked disappointment and frustration among the organizers and attendees. This unexpected no-show has put the actress in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, raising questions about her professionalism and commitment to public engagements.
A recent event promoting Nari Shakti (Women Empowerment) at a hotel on JLN Marg was marred by controversy when actress Triptii Dimri failed to attend, despite being invited as a key guest. Her absence sparked widespread outrage, with many expressing disappointment and frustration. The backlash has intensified, with some even calling for a boycott of Triptii and her upcoming film, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, citing her lack of commitment to empowering women as contradictory to the values she claims to support.
Reports indicate that Triptii Dimri had initially agreed to attend the Nari Shakti event for a substantial fee of INR 5.5 lakh. However, in a shocking turn of events, she failed to honor her commitment. According to one of the female entrepreneurs involved in organizing the event, Triptii’s team had assured them over the phone that she would arrive within the next five minutes, but she never showed up, leaving the organizers bewildered and disappointed. This last-minute no-show has further fueled the controversy surrounding Triptii’s absence.
The organizer of the Nari Shakti event voiced her severe disappointment and frustration, revealing plans to pursue legal action against Triptii Dimri for reneging on her commitment. Emphasizing the actress’s unacceptable behavior, the organizer called for a city-wide boycott of Triptii and her upcoming film in Jaipur, accusing her of “cheating” the city’s residents by failing to fulfill her promised appearance.
A video circulating online captures a heated reaction from a woman, who strongly condemns Triptii Dimri’s no-show, saying, “No one will watch her movies. These celebrities don’t show up after committing. Who does she think she is? She’s not even that famous. We came to see who she is, and still, no one knows her name. She is not worth being called a celebrity.”
In another video, the event organizer is seen dramatically protesting Triptii Dimri’s no-show by blackening her poster on stage. The gesture sparked fervent chants from the crowd, with several women shouting “Mooh kala karo iska” (Blacken her face), reflecting their outrage and disappointment.
An organizer vehemently condemned Triptii Dimri’s actions, stating, “Jaipur should boycott Triptii Dimri. We will file a case against her. I had transferred half the money and was about to send the rest, but I stopped after being told to wait for 5 minutes. I don’t know why, but I gave them half the amount. The total deal was INR 5.5 lakh. After taking money and changing times, she disrespected us. Jaipur should boycott her movies.“
Triptii Dimri’s spokesperson has fired back at the allegations, setting the record straight on the actress’s commitments. “During the ongoing promotional campaign for her film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Triptii Dimri fully honoured her professional obligations, attending all scheduled events and sessions related to the film. Notably, she did not participate or commit to participate in any personal appearances or events beyond her promotional duties.”
Triptii Dimri’s spokesperson provided further clarification, stating that the actress did not receive any compensation for the appearance. “It’s important to clarify that no additional fees or payments were accepted for her involvement in these activities,” the note concluded.
On the contrary, the actress is seen appreciating FICCI for organizing the event and confirming her participation for the same in an Instagram video which was posted on the official Instagram channel of FICCI FLO Jaipur.
“I am happy to confirm that I will be a part of the FICCI FLO event team Shakti, celebrating the strength and energy of women. Thank you, Ms. Raghushree Poddar, Chairperson of FICCI FLO Jaipur chapter, for organizing this event. See you all tomorrow at 12 noon.” said Dimri
Separately, Dimri’s upcoming film project is generating buzz. Her next movie, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, in which she stars alongside Rajkummar Rao, is scheduled to hit theaters on October 11, 2024.
