Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry yesterday announced that it has launched a new online marketplace to connect buyers and sellers of personal protective equipment and medical supplies.
The online platform has been names as ‘Rapid Response Initiative’ (RRI), hosted on Dubai Chamber’s website itself. The companies offering protective equipment can register themselves on the marketplace at no costs involved. The Rapid Response website currently has 15 approved suppliers from the UAE listing a wide range of medical products, including surgical and reusable facemasks, shields, safety goggles, hand sanitizer, disposable gloves, medical gowns and coveralls, ventilators and thermometers.

Commenting on the launch, Dr Belaid Rettab, Senior Director, Economic Research and Sustainable Business Development sector, Dubai Chamber in a statement noted,

“This first-of-its-kind initiative supports Dubai Chamber’s efforts to enhance ease of doing business in Dubai and facilitate trade, while it also positions the emirate as a global smart city leveraging digital tools to help fight the spread of Covid-19,”
Speaking of the mutual benefits that RRI is creating for both buyers and seller of PPE, Rettab further added,
“Businesses using the marketplace can benefit by reducing costs when buying PPE, generating new leads, building long-term partnerships with reliable suppliers. We encourage companies operating in this field to leverage the platform to capitalise on new business opportunities and boost their online exposure,”
