Mumbai-based Nia.one raises $2.4 million seed funding to expand gig worker network

Nia.one raises USD 2.4M from Elevar Equity to expand gig worker network, launch Niadel hubs, and boost worker wellbeing across India.

Nia.one, Mumbai-based full-stack platform for India’s gig and blue-collar workforce, announced on Thursday that it has secured USD 2.4 million in seed funding from Elevar Equity. The funding aims to expand the company’s reach to more than 8,000 workers in the upcoming quarters, up from its current base of over 3,000.

The investment will also accelerate Nia.one’s vision of establishing ‘Niadel hubs’ across key employment corridors, providing workers with proximity to workplaces, access to fair jobs, and support for daily needs.

“Every Niadel hub is designed so that a worker can walk to work, return to a safe, affordable bed, access hot meals, and upgrade their life without debt traps or brokers. Elevar’s partnership strengthens our ability to build this infrastructure with discipline, speed, and long-term intent,” said Pushkar Raj, Co-Founder and COO of Nia.one.

The platform’s integrated architecture is designed to improve worker retention, lower churn costs for employers, and create a capital-efficient model for scaling physical hubs.

“By placing workers at the center—solving for where they live, what they eat, and how they work—Nia.one has built a model where worker wellbeing directly drives business performance. It’s a bold and fresh approach to this segment and we are excited about the potential it holds,” said Jyotsna Krishnan, Managing Partner at Elevar Equity and Co-founder and CEO of EPIC World.

Founded in August 2024 by Sachin Chhabra and Pushkar Raj, Nia.one operates across more than 50 cities, serving over 3,000 gig workers with retention rates exceeding 80%.

“With Elevar on board, we are set up to build what lasts, not just what trends, a trusted home for India’s migrating workforce,” said Sachin Chhabra, Founder and CEO.

Editor’s Note

As India’s gig and blue-collar workforce continues to grow, platforms like Nia.one play a critical role in bridging gaps in housing, fair employment, and worker wellbeing. By providing integrated support through Niadel hubs and technology-driven solutions, such platforms not only enhance worker stability and retention but also strengthen local economies and business efficiency. In a country where millions migrate for work each year, ensuring safe, affordable, and dignified living and working conditions is no longer optional—it is essential for sustainable growth and inclusive development.
