Aker Foods raises undisclosed funding from Mumbai Angels Network

Pune, India-based Aker Foods on April 28 announced that it has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Mumbai Angels Network.

Commenting on the investment round, Suraj Saste, Co-founder of Aker Foods in a statement said,

Besides helping us raise funds in such precarious and unprecedented times, Mumbai Angels has bestowed their faith on us & also got us connected to its vast network of Investors across cities in India. This current funding will help us service more customers across selected cities also accelerate onboard new clients & supply network.”

Nandini Mansinghka, Co-promoter and CEO Mumbai Angels Network affirmed the basis of Aker Foods as a technology-driven platform for the food value chain,

“Aker foods uses end-to-end technology-driven platform for the food value chain to ensure that high-quality ingredients reach the kitchens.”

Aker Foods was founded last year by serial entrepreneurs Suraj Saste, Nihal Surve, Manoj Jadhav and Adarsh Kedari. It claims to have foodtech giants including Swiggy, Zomato, Subway in its client canvas. The company aims to create a smart and efficient supply chain which learns the demand side through machine learning algorithms and procures directly from farmers and deliver it to the restaurants across the city with optimised delivery algorithms – reducing delivery time, improving the quality and reduce costs. The approach also ensures to eliminate middlemen whilst helping farmers increase their earning.
